iOS 8 Beta 4

iOS 8 Beta 4

Apple’s first iOS 8 beta 4 was released on July 27  and the second one came just as expected two weeks later. Now, Apple has released a much-needed third beta of its next-generation mobile platform. iOS 8 beta 4 brings with it a number of bug fixes and various new items as well. While Apple’s iOS8 betas are intended for use by developers only on test devices, many people use the software on their personal phones, so the fixes brought about by iOS 8 beta 4 will certainly be greatly appreciated.

iOS 8 beta 4 is available beginning immediately for developers with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch devices that are compatible with the new software. It can be installed as an over the air (OTA) update and is not yet available as a download from Apple’s developer portal.

The new software addresses several troublesome bugs from the first two iOS 8 beta releases, and we’ll update this post with Apple’s full release notes / change log as soon as we receive them.

For non-developers who have the iOS 8 beta installed, iOS 8 beta 3 will address some issues but plenty more will remain, so you might want to consider rolling back to the latest version of iOS 7.1 until the final version of iOS 8 is released to the public.

HOW TO DOWNGRADE FROM THE IOS 8 BETA TO IOS 7

HOW TO DOWNGRADE FROM THE IOS 8 BETA TO IOS 7

Apple does not offer a one click downgrade option, and this is a little more complicated than installing the iOS 8 beta on your iPhone or iPad. You need to find the iOS 7 download for your specific device. If you are a developer Apple offers a download in the developer center, but for average users just trying out iOS 8 you will need to look elsewhere. So why don t you try this steps.

1. Download the right iOS 7 ipsw for your iPhone or iPad.

2. Put your iPhone into Recovery Mode. To do this you will need to follow these steps.

  1. Turn the iPhone off as normal.
  2. Hold the home button and plug the lightning Cable or Dock Connector in with the other end connected to your computer.
  3. Keep holding the home button until the recovery Mode logo shown above pops up.

3. iTunes Should recognize the iPhone in recovery mode and show a message similar to the one below.

iTunes recognizes the iPhone in recovery mode, and is ready for an iOS 8 to iOS 7 downgrade.

4. Some users can click Restore and iTunes will download the right file for them. Other users may need to use a method similar to installing the iOS 8 beta.

  • On Mac, Option click restore.
  • On PC Shift click restore.

5. When prompted find and click on the iOS 7.1 ipsw that you downloaded. Click Open and then click Restore.

6. Wait for the iPhone or iPad to restart with iOS 7.1.1 installed.

7. If you have an iOS 7 backup you want to restore from follow the on screen directions to restore that backup.

8. Or just try the recover mode from DFU mode
